You should have one of this in your kitchen – honestly, you’ll be glad. We’ll share our hands-on experience with these blenders.

Why get the best hand blender?

If you like to get things done easily, then you’d like a hand blender in your kitchen. It makes cooking a lot easier. With the best hand blender in your hands, you’ll not need to transfer food from the pot to a food processor and back to the pot. Most hand blenders are designed to allow for blending right in the pot.

So, if a hand blender is not in your kitchen, you’re surely missing out.

Factors to consider when shopping for the best hand blenders.

Have the following factors listed below at the back of your mind when you go shopping for the best hand blenders.

Simplicity/Ease of use

Kitchen appliances are if they are simple. In fact, no one likes reading a user manual before being able to use an appliance, and certainly not an appliance like the hand blender otherwise called an immersion blender, wand blender or stick blender.

Simplicity also factors in important things like intuitive controls which are easy to locate when using the device. Also, the immersion blender should be safe for washing in a dishwasher. Furthermore, the device should come with an ergonomic grip. If the grip is uncomfortable, you will feel uncomfortable when using the device.

Budget

Many people think that hand blenders are cheap. Well, they are affordable but the price can quickly go up because of its features. If you aren’t interested in having one with tons of features you don’t need, then you should have a budget. Your budget will restrain you from spending more than you should. You can get a good hand blender for slightly over a hundred dollars.

Functionality

Having a versatile immersion blender is very important. You don’t want to end up buying a hand blender each for every task you want to do. For some users, they’d prefer simplicity over functionality.

However, if you are going to be doing more than blending, you should consider getting something multi-functional. It is important to ask yourself the question “what do I intend to blend?” Perhaps, the answer you derive from it will point you further in the right direction.

Weight

Something lightweight is ideal. You certainly don’t want to be using a heavy hand blender. The weight should be in the neighborhood of 3 lbs or less.

Cordless Blender/With Cord

If you like the convenience of taking a cordless blender along with you on a picnic, then you can opt for the cordless model. However, it might interest you to know that the battery on cordless immersion blenders often drains fast.

The Motor

To be honest, any immersion blender with a wattage below 500 watts isn’t ideal for a lot of tasks. You’ll find great blenders with 300 watts motor, but then, their tasks are limited to what the 300W motor can handle. Thus, the ideal wattage for the best hand blender is 500W – at least we are sure of that.

Best Hand Blenders Comparison Table

Here’s our candid review of the best hand blenders

1)  Mueller Multi-Purpose Hand Blender

The best hand blender on our list is the Mueller Multi-Purpose hand blender. After using it for a couple of hours, we realized it was a great product to own. In the lines that follow, we’ll tell you why.

First, the Mueller hand blender is a beauty to behold. It is stylishly designed and sports an ergonomic handle. This makes it comfortable to hold and it doesn’t slip when you’re using it, except if your hand is oily. It’s portable and lightweight – it weighs only 2.3 lbs and measures 16 x 4 x 2 inches. Mueller designed it for blending a variety of items including soup, waffles, etc. The blender offers 2-speed options plus an additional 8 variable speed settings, not to mention the turbo speed feature. This should get your items blended in a jiffy.

Aside from that, we like the slim stick and the shaft which is detachable. It can be washed in the dishwasher. The stick fits into a lot of bowls, jars, pots, and beakers because of its slim nature. Its wattage is pegged at 500 watts which signifies that it has a powerful motor.

  • Ergonomic design makes it great to handle.

The OXA Smart Powerful 4-in-1 blender packs a punch and is undeniably a great deal for the money. By getting this blender, you also get a 500ml food chopper, and egg whisk as well as a 600ml BPA-free beaker. And the most amazing part is that you get it all for the price of 1 hand blender. A round of applause, please.

OXA equipped the smart hand blender with a 6-speed control function. This is quite lower than the 8 speed on the Mueller. However, it is in no wise less powerful than it. Let’s also point out that the speed setting has a turbo feature too – quite handy when you want things blended fast.

The blender can be used to blend a variety of food items. Additionally, you can use the food chopper that comes with it to cook cauliflower rice, guacamole and lots more.

Design wise, the OXA hand blender is beautiful no doubt. It’s also super sleek and kitchen-sexy – if there’s any word like that. The rubberized grip handle feels firm when held. We liked the splash guard that came with it. It protected the food from splattering while we were blending it.

Pros

  • It is dishwasher safe.
  • The rubberized grip makes it easy to hold.
  • It is lightweight and beautifully designed.
  • For the price of a hand blender, you get a food chopper, a beaker, a splash guard, and an egg whisk.

3) Aicok 4-in-1 Hand Blender

The next hand blender we are reviewing is the Aicok hand blender. It’s also a 4-in-1 model like its counterpart, the OXA hand blender. This costs less than the OXA model and they share a handful of similarities.

The Aicok hand blender is designed for a variety of blending activities. This includes blending, chopping, whisking, emulsifying and pureeing, as the case may be. It comes out of the box with its own 500ml food processor, a whisk, a wall mount attachment, and a 700ml beaker. The wall mount attachment comes in handy if you want to store it at arms-length. Just keep it out of the reach of children.

It features variable 12-speed settings with an additional 2 turbo settings. This quickens the time you spend blending and ensures you enjoy unparalleled smoothness in your food blends. The design of the blender is ergonomic, and besides, it’s made of high-quality stainless steel materials.

Pros

  • This 4-in-1 blender offers you a variety of options for blending, whisking, pureeing and more.
  • It comes with a wall mount that makes it easy to reach.
  • It’s rust-free, thanks to its stainless steel coating.
  • 12-speed settings and 2 turbo speed settings decrease cooking time and blends effectively.

Cons

  • The shaft doesn’t lock in place properly with the blender.

Best Hand Blender Score: 4.8/5

4) KOIOS Powerful 500 Watt Hand Blender

With 6 to 12 variable speeds to choose from, the KOIOS hand blender is worth owning. Like the OXA and the Aciok blenders, the KOIOS hand blender is also a 4-in-1 blender with its own egg whisk, beaker and food processor.

It’s pretty effective and powerful – after all, it sports a 500W motor which powers it. Aside from the 12-speed variable speed function, there’s also a turbo feature on this model. No doubt turbo feature has become a standard for immersion blenders.

The KOIOS hand blender is suitable for doing a variety of cooking tasks. It is useful for making smoothies, milkshakes, salsas, broccoli soup, etc. to mention a few. The 8-inch shaft is pretty long and as such is useful for deep pot blending.

We enjoyed holding the KOIOS hand blender as it feels firm to the grip. It’s not slippery to say the least, and the blades are pretty sharp – you should watch out for it.

Pros

  • 6-12 variable speeds to choose from makes blending faster and easier.
  • It’s a 4-in-1 hand blender suitable for pureeing, whisking and doing more in the kitchen.

Best Hand Blender Score: 4.6/5

5) Breville BSB510XL Control Grip Immersion Blender

The Breville hand blender is the last on our list of the best hand blenders, but it certainly isn’t the least. It is powered by a 280W motor which is outrightly poor in our opinion. However, it doesn’t impede on the blender’s performance significantly. Again, the Breville hand blender is not a 4-in-1 model like we’ve seen in the hand blenders we’ve reviewed above.

It is 8” long and measures 2.5 x 3 x 16.2 inches and weighs a little less than 4 lbs. Additionally, it comes with a blending jug which is quite strongly built. The Breville hand blender has 15-speed settings which make blending a play in the park. It’s quite effective and easy to select speeds while using it.

Lest we forget, the hand blender is quite comfortable to the grip. We also like the position of the buttons. They allow for more dexterity during operation.

Pros

  • 15-speed settings to choose from making it suitable for a variety of blending tasks.
  • 8” blending stick is long enough to blend in deep pots.
  • The blender comes with its own blending jug.
  • Sharp ice crushing stainless steel blades.

Cons

  • Weak 280W motor. A 500W motor would have been better.

Best Hand Blender Score: 4.4/5

Conclusion

Cooking a variety of meals are made easier with hand blenders. However, choosing the best hand blender is often a difficult task given that there are several products that claim to be the best but are in reality, the best in disappointing customers.

Our vote for the Best Hand Blender of 2018 is Mueller Multi-Purpose Hand Blender  but we’d say you can’t go wrong with any of the above. Happy hand blending!
